Ireland recently had the pleasure of a visit from the Bush regime’s proposed next “Governor General” of Cuba. This known director of terrorism, responsible for countless deaths across Latin America, should have been arrested on stepping foot on this island. Instead, and in line with this state’s support for US terrorism, they welcomed him, met him and ultimately escorted him from our shores.
On a meeting tour of Europe to coordinate a unified imperialist approach to “the Cuban problem” McCarry was invited by the Politics Department in UCD to speak. On finding this out, comrades from the CYM, CPI, Éirígí, Labour Youth and more in no uncertain terms told McCarry where to go, and that was not to Cuba! McCarry was escorted away by members of the honourable Garda Síochána.
The 5 are political prisoners held in US jails in violation of US law, international law, and basic human rights.
